When we started thinking about what most businesses need out of their web sites, we focused on how they typically grow on the Web. It's rare to find companies who have all the tools they'll ever need built in with the initial launch of their site. What we saw more often that not is businesses had to duct tape in mismatched applications, totally deconstruct their existing web sites to obtain the features they needed, or pay out ridiculous amounts of money to have someone else update their site.
So we said, "that's nuts" and built VIM as an answer to the problems commonly faced with other content management systems.
VIM is comprised of commercial, functional modules which can be integrated as needed, making the expensive “one size fits all” CMS of the past obsolete. Now your web site can do as much—or as little—as you need it to do.
